Neurophysiology Fellowship Qualifications

Thank you for you interest in our Neurophysiology Fellowship Training Program at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. To be a candidate for application to our program, we require the following:

  1. The applicant must have successfully completed an ACGME accredited Neurology Training Program.
  2. The applicant must have an excellent documented command of the English language.
  3. The applicant must have the appropriate physical and mental health to be responsible for patients in a rigorous training environment.
  4. The applicant must not have had significant academic difficulty during his/her Neurology training. For example, failing or marginal grades in a significant portion of the curriculum or a failure to pass USMLE, Parts I, II and III.
  5. The applicant must be a US citizen, possess a green card or possess a J-1 Visa prior to initiation of training.

We will not consider any applicants who do not meet all of our requirements.

In order to apply to our program, we require the following:

  • A Current CV
  • Personal Statement
  • Copies of your USMLE Board Scores (all three)
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (One should be from either the director of your neurology training program or the chairman)
  • Medical School Transcripts
  • ECFMG (if applicable)
  • Visa Status (if applicable)
